What a second costs on Vidu
Vidu (platform.vidu.com) publishes reference-to-video rates of $0.035, $0.06 and $0.075 per second at 540p, 720p and 1080p, and states that off-peak generation runs at half price. As of 2026-09-12.
| Tier | In credits | Per second | Longest clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q3 540p | - | $0.035 | not stated |
| Q3 720p | - | $0.06 | not stated |
| Q3 1080p | - | $0.075 | not stated |
Inclusion rule. Tiers the vendor publishes a per-second rate for. A tier priced only as a monthly allowance is not converted and does not get a row. Order. As the vendor orders them on its own page.

2The flattest resolution curve in the ledger
Most channels roughly double from 720p to 1080p. Vidu's published rates rise by a quarter over the same step, which makes 1080p the default choice here rather than an upgrade to be justified. Whether the output at that resolution is comparable is not something a price list can answer, and this site does not try to.
The published rates are for reference-to-video specifically, which is the mode a serial production uses most: a character sheet goes in with the prompt so the same face comes back. Rates for other modes are listed separately on the same page.
3A discount with a condition attached
Off-peak generation at half price is the only conditional rate in this ledger that is published as a rate rather than as a plan benefit. It is recorded as its own row rather than folded into the headline figure, because a price that depends on when a job runs is not comparable with one that does not, and averaging the two would produce a number no one is ever charged.
For a production that batches overnight, the effective rate is the off-peak one. For a production that iterates during a working day, it is not. Both are published, so both are recorded.
