What a second of AI video costs, channel by channel

The condition printed beside WaveSpeed's rates

WaveSpeed attaches one sentence to its whole rate list: prices may vary based on resolution and generation parameters. It covers every figure on the page, including the cheapest published second anywhere in this register. As of 2026-09-22.

One sentence qualifying every figure on the pagePrices may vary based on resolution and generation parameters, stated once and applied to the whole rate list with no tier exempted. Inclusion rule. Channels that print a condition on the same page as the rate: a discount, a tier or a statement that the figure varies. A bare figure with nothing attached is not listed. Order. Alphabetical by channel name.

2A blanket variability clause is the weakest form of a published rate

Every figure on the page is qualified by settings that are not enumerated, so each number is an example rather than a commitment. A rate that may move with parameters nobody lists cannot be checked against an invoice by anyone outside the account.

It is still worth recording. The figures are specific, the models are named, and the condition is printed rather than discovered later. A page that prints a plain rate and silently varies it is worse in every respect except appearance.

3The cheapest second in the register sits under this sentence

One cent a second on an ultra-fast variant is the lowest published figure anywhere here, by a factor of four against the next cheapest. It is also the figure most exposed to the clause, because an ultra-fast variant is defined by settings.

So the register's floor is a conditional number attached to a model whose whole premise is a trade against quality. Quoting it as the market's cheapest second without both of those qualifications would be the most misleading single sentence this ledger could produce.

4The catalogue is wide enough that the clause does real work

The page prices one family at ten cents, another at eight and a half, a third at ten, a large model's fast tier at fifteen, and animation and lip-sync models at four and three cents. Across that spread, resolution and parameters mean different things per row.

One sentence covering all of it is efficient for the seller and leaves the reader without a way to know which rows are firm. The honest use of this page is as a ranking of models rather than a price list to budget from.

5What the seconds buy

Price aside, what goes into the seconds behind “WaveSpeed price condition” is described in SceneMixer's guides:

Typically 60–120 seconds, always 9:16 vertical, ending on a hook. SceneMixer's episode outlines are generated with that pacing, and setting a project to 9:16 makes every segment vertical (the default is 16:9).

A segment is one generation, and its length is the sum of its shots’ seconds.
