How Runway rates on seven criteria
Runway rates 2.6 across the criteria that could be rated, a peak on picture and a floor on script handling, four points apart. Its strongest column is picture quality and its weakest is script handling. Every number describes what the vendor publishes, read on 2026-09-12. As of 2026-09-12.
| Criterion | Rating | What the vendor publishes |
|---|---|---|
| Script handling | 1 of 5 | Nothing published |
| Cast consistency | 3 of 5 | Partly documented |
| Shot control | 2 of 5 | Partly documented |
| Picture quality | 5 of 5 | Documented |
| Sound | 3 of 5 | Partly documented |
| Assembly | 2 of 5 | Partly documented |
| Cost transparency | 2 of 5 | Partly documented |
Inclusion rule. The same seven criteria are applied to every tool rated here. A criterion the vendor does not address is left unrated rather than scored low. Order. Fixed criterion order, identical on every tool page.

2Generation is documented, the rate is not
Picture quality reaches five on a named model with published resolutions. Cost transparency sits at two because what a second costs is not readable in the same way, so a production can plan the look before it can plan the budget.
Those two columns rarely move together in this table, and this row is one of the clearest examples.
3Two on assembly, not one
The step above the floor means something is published about getting material out in a usable shape without joining being a documented, priced step. That distinction is small on a feature list and decides whether an episode needs an editor.
Ratings describe what Runway publishes on its own pages, read 2026-09-12. They are not measurements of output quality, and the vendor is not consulted before a rating appears. The rule behind each criterion is on how scoring works; all sixteen tools together are on the ratings table. Next: Vidu, Luma Dream Machine.
