The condition printed beside Vidu's rate
Vidu states on the same page as its rates that off-peak generation costs half the normal price. The condition is a clock rather than a tier, so it applies across all three published resolutions at once. As of 2026-09-22.
| What is published | As the API price page states it |
|---|---|
| The condition | Off-peak generation is half the normal price |
| What it applies to | The published rates, rather than one named tier |
| Rates underneath it | Three and a half to seven and a half cents a second by resolution |
| The conditional floor | Under two cents a second at the cheapest resolution |
Inclusion rule. Conditions the API price page attaches to its own figures. A discount reachable only by contacting the seller is not published and gets no row. Order. The condition first, then what it applies to.
1Where Vidu sits in this column
| Channel | Condition on the figure |
|---|---|
| Runware | A struck-through cell on one model |
| Sora | Half price on the batch tier |
| Vidu | Half price off peak |
| WaveSpeed AI | Every figure may move with settings |
Inclusion rule. Channels that print a condition on the same page as the rate: a discount, a tier or a statement that the figure varies. A bare figure with nothing attached is not listed. Order. Alphabetical by channel name.
2A clock-based discount is a discount a schedule can capture
Half price for generating outside peak hours costs a production nothing except planning. Character sheets, scene plates and first-pass segments are all work that can be queued overnight, and none of it needs a person watching.
That makes this condition different from a volume discount, which needs capital, or a plan discount, which needs commitment. It needs a batch script and a willingness to look at the results in the morning.
3The page does not state when off peak is
A halving is precise and the window it applies to is not named on the page carrying the rate. So the discount is certain in size and uncertain in reach, which is the reverse of most conditions in this column.
The practical consequence is that the conditional figure cannot go in the ledger as a rate. It is recorded as a published condition instead, and the unconditional figures stay as the comparable ones.
4Two published conditions on one page pull in opposite directions
The same page prices additional concurrent sessions at about two thousand and eighty dollars a month. So throughput costs money and patience saves it, and both are stated rather than implied.
A production can read those two lines as a single choice. Paying for concurrency buys speed at peak rates; queueing off peak buys half-price output at whatever throughput the free five sessions allow. Almost nowhere else in the register is that trade published on one page.
- Conditional discountOff-peak generation is half the normal pricestated on the same page
- Q3 reference-to-video$0.035, $0.06 and $0.075 per second at 540p, 720p and 1080p
- ConcurrencyFive concurrent sessions per account are free; each additional concurrent session costs 416,000 credits a month, stated as about USD 2,080 a monthsold as a line item
5Inside a generated second
Price aside, what goes into the seconds behind “Vidu price condition” is described in SceneMixer's guides:
A SceneMixer segment comes out with its sound already in it: each line spoken in that character’s voice, the speaker’s lips moving with the words, and the ambience of the place — rain, traffic, a clock.

Each character is matched to a preset voice sample that is attached to every segment, so the character's voice identity is stable across episodes.
