Tools that publish no rate anyone can compute
Some tools publish a plan and a monthly price but nothing that converts into a price per second of finished footage. They are recorded here rather than left off the ledger, because absence is the finding. As of 2026-09-12.
The ledger needs three things to produce a rate: a unit, a quantity and a price. A monthly subscription with an unspecified generation allowance gives the price and nothing else. A credit bundle with no published seconds-per-credit gives two of the three. Neither can be completed without asking the vendor, and an answer obtained that way is not something a reader can re-check.
Leaving those tools out would make the ledger look tidier and read worse. A buyer comparing options needs to know that a product has no computable rate, which is itself a fact about how it is sold.
Each entry records what the vendor does publish — the plan names, the monthly figures, the allowance wording — and names the one missing piece that would let a rate be computed. If that piece appears, the tool moves to the ledger.
1The entries
- Luma — Credits per second, with no credit price.
- Pika — Credits by feature, with no credit price.
- Morph Studio — Monthly credit allowances only.
- invideo AI — Monthly allowance, with credits quoted per video.
- CapCut — Price shown in the app, stated to vary by region and device.
- Hedra — Hedra publishes plan prices and monthly credit allowances, raises the rollover question in its own FAQ, and answers neither in the page text.
- HeyGen — HeyGen publishes clip length, rollover rules and a concurrency multiple, and still no price for a second of video or for a single credit.
- Magnific — Magnific meters video in credits against named durations and gives credits a year of validity, without ever pricing a single credit.
- Segmind — Segmind prices GPU time by the second and one model by the run, sends per-model figures to a search box, and never prices a second of video.
- Synthesia — Synthesia states how many minutes of video a plan's credits buy, which is half a rate, and leaves the price of a single credit unpublished.
Moving a tool onto the ledger takes one published sentence: how much finished video a credit, a plan or a dollar actually buys.
Elsewhere on the ledger: Channels, Ratings, Price shapes, What each channel publishes, One model, several sellers, Single ratings, Questions, Terms, Learn, Data. How a figure earns a line is set out on the method page.
2What the seconds buy
Price aside, what goes into the seconds behind “Unpriced” is described in SceneMixer's guides:
Every character gets an AI-generated full-body reference sheet at analysis time. Face and body crops from that sheet are injected into every video segment that features the character, so the same face, hair, and signature look persist across all episodes.
