What the resolution step costs on Replicate
Replicate prices two variants of one model family at nine cents a second for 480p and twenty-five for 720p. Nearly three times for one resolution increment is the steepest step any channel here publishes. As of 2026-09-22.
| Variant | Per second of output, as published |
|---|---|
| The 480p image-to-video variant | Nine cents |
| The 720p image-to-video variant | Twenty-five cents |
| Everything else in the catalogue | Billed by the time the model takes to run |
| Longest single generation | Absent from the page carrying the rate |
Inclusion rule. Models on the price page with a figure against a second of output video. Models billed by run time have no per-second output rate and are listed as such. Order. Ascending by published figure.
1Where Replicate sits in this column
| Channel | Step up in resolution |
|---|---|
| Kling AI | Double to 1080p, five times to 4K |
| MiniMax | Half again from 768P to 2K |
| Replicate | Nearly three times for one step |
| Sora | Seven times from the cheapest to the dearest |
| Veo | Free on one tier, twelvefold across the range |
| Vidu | Just over double across three tiers |
| Wan | Four times from 480P to 1080P |
Inclusion rule. Channels publishing a rate at more than one resolution on the same page. A channel with a single figure has no step to price. Order. Alphabetical by channel name.
2The steepest step here, on the same model family
Nine to twenty-five cents is a rise of nearly one hundred and eighty per cent for one resolution increment. The source of that model family publishes the same step at exactly double, so this is a reseller's own curve rather than an inherited one.
That is the useful comparison. Buying the smaller output through this shop is close to the source price; buying the larger one is not, and the difference between those two answers is a resale decision rather than a cost of pixels.
3The cheap row is cheap and the deliverable row is not
Nine cents a second at 480p sits in the middle of the register. Twenty-five at 720p is dearer than the standard tier of several channels with better-known models, which inverts the ranking a comparison built on the lower figure would produce.
Vertical drama delivered at 480p can live on the cheap row, and anything that needs 720p should be priced against the whole register rather than against this page. The two rows belong in different shortlists.
4Outside these two rows the meter changes entirely
Most of the catalogue is billed by how long a model takes to run, so the resolution question does not even have the same shape: a larger output costs more because it takes longer, at a rate that depends on the hardware and the queue.
So this page has two priced models and a platform behind them. A production that needs a rate it can check should treat those two rows as the offer and everything else as something to measure.

5The production behind the price
Price aside, what goes into the seconds behind “Replicate resolution step” is described in SceneMixer's guides:
Sixty to a hundred and twenty seconds is the working range for short drama, and that is what the outline paces for. A 90-second episode is typically seven segments of about fourteen seconds stacked together.

The shot seconds in the storyboard add up to the segment length, so editing them changes it.
